Oboro Ownership: Miyakage Captures PK Title

A smoldering Miyakage, oboro, completely ran the No. 1 PK show, cruising past x The Doctor, rune knight, in an unexpected and one-sided face-off round, 3-0, en route to the PK title held last September 17 in the PK arena.   

The oboro started strongly, not relenting to any of her aggressors in the early rounds of the tournament, easily thumping a shell-shocked Calysta, shura, and Ammit, guillotine cross, in the eliminations and semi-finals respectively, scoring 2-0 in both encounters. Miyakage then faced multiple PK champ OG KUSH, rune knight, in the finals, with the former PK champion unable to stop the female ninja’s killing spree, succumbing to Miyakage’s heavy onslaught in two handy sets, 2-0.

Miyakage continued her breakthrough in the face-offs, subduing another tough rune knight, x The Doctor, with the oboro’s kunai attacks doing damage, 1-0, in the first set. The female oboro blitzkrieged the hapless rune knight in the second round; the latter totally unable to answer Miyakage’s incessant assaults to rebound, 2-0. The oboro further affirmed her domination of the September PK series in the final set, shutting off a stunned x The Doctor with her kunai throws and an appropriate killing strike, 3-0.

With her excellent run to the title, Miyakage just became the first ever PK hall of famer from the ninja class. Furthermore, the oboro pocketed 30 Proofs of Donation, five megaphones, and of course the No. 1 PK helm, which will be under her care until the next PK event, where she will have a chance to defend the crown for a second PK title.

The Left Pronteran save point is certainly all business in terms of making it in the headlines this month, claiming another major MyRO tournament as a blistering Illuminiggaz squad effectively whitewashed a rigid Midnight Troops crew from Yuno, 5-3, in the bravely fought thriller finals of the MyRO War Masters event last September 24 in the MWM battle map.   

“Si Bex at si Joben, si Bex, siya naging inspirasyon namin, kitang kita naman sa emblem,” Ashhh QuinnDrizz, team minstrel, explained the reason that led them to their win. “Sila kasi yung mga naging magandang halimbawa dito sa LP.” 
 
Illuminiggaz immediately set their minds for the helms early in the semifinals, trumping a disjointed and last month's MWM champs Dere Dere via a solid clean sweep, 3-0. The Left Prontera party’s winning streak was halted though by a strong-willed Midnight Troops of Yuno, efficiently thumping the Illuminiggaz crew in the first round of the finals to lead, 1-0.   

“Weakness naming kapag nakakatapak ng trap si Mark sure lose, haha,” Shinozaki Ai, shadow chaser, commented about some of the challenges they encountered in the finals. “At kulang sa communication,” she added.   

“Weakness po namin ‘pag walang bucket meals from KFC,” Royal Guard dibu also laughed.

In spite of some shortcomings, Illuminiggaz was quick to get into the fray in the next round, channeling a more aggressive gameplay in the second set to annihilate the Yuno group, tying scores at 1-1. The Midnight Troops, however, handed the Left Pronterans another hard time in the third round, winning the point to advance, 2-1. Illuminiggaz would not come down easily though, still heightening up their intensity to level scores in the fourth set, 2-2, and completely dominating the next two rounds to take the lead, 4-2.   

“Ang naging advantage namin ay tight ‘yung bond naming isa't isa,” God Kalid, warlock, meanwhile said about how they overcame their mishaps in the previous rounds. And while the Yuno team was able to score one more point in the seventh set to cut the Left Prontera guild’s lead, it was all an Illuminiggaz wild party in the next and final set, thoroughly pounding a valiant but weary Midnight Troops to seal Left Prontera’s MWM victory, 5-3.    

“Ang naging advantage naming is yung tinuro ni Joben which is inom isang red horse every match, pati sabi ni Bex, ‘Dad ang advantage mo ay ang kagwapuhan mo’,” Mark QuinnDrizz, lord knight, further joked about their successful campaign in the September MWM show. “Tinuro din sa’min ni Shinozaki Ai kung pa’no manghulog ng puso ng babae para mas lumakas and [maging] confident sa game. Sabi din ni Rad dapat lagi po kaming video skype para mas malakas.”

With all that said, the MWM champions received two megaphones and twenty pieces of +10 foods for each member, and fifty Proofs of Donation (PODs) for the whole team. Of course, along with their prize haul is the ownership of the silver MWM Dragon Helms (Attributes All stats +2, Def +4), which they will have to defend in the October MWM event.   

“We will do our best to defend the title win or lose. Masaya pa rin kami. May kasabihan nga kami eh, ‘started from the bottom, now we’re here’,” a clearly proud Ashhh QuinnDrizz replied when asked about their next MWM adventure.   

“I-defend yung title, kahit matalo, manalo okay lang… [Basta] nag-eenjoy kami,” Shinozaki Ai further added.

OG KUSH Strikes Again!

Malaya’s Rune Knight - OG KUSH is now back to claim his title after failing to claim his throne last September 2016. I must say, he is one of a kind. Why? Because out of the 15 contenders he is the only RK in the ring. Players would usually go for Sura, Oboro, SC, GX or Gene or those that have high power and are swift killers, but an RK!? That is something you don’t see often unless it is OG KUSH.

“Faster than an arrow.”

OG KUSH finished all his matches in the blink of an eye. During the elimination round, he swept ranger Rufus Wilde scoring 2-0. He was then pitted against suras during the semifinals and finals match - NIP GeT RiGhT and Jana Candy, respectively. He proved that not even suras can stand in his way by scoring 2-1 on both matches. By the way, did you know that the only reason why his opponent even got a point is because the round ended with a tie – meaning both players went down? That’s how deadly this multiple PK champ is - either I score a point or we both go down!

“Eat this! Bowling Bash!”

It’s time for the faceoff as OG KUSH battled the cunning Sorcerer, AG Brix. It was an exciting match as both sides are not giving in to each other. The sorcerer was being very cautious and strategic as he built up his defense all over the ring making sure not to be frozen or get hit, but OG KUSH was able to quickly obliterate his opponent. He showered Brix with bowling bash and pushed the latter out of the safety walls and warmer. The faceoff match ended with a straight 3-0 for OG KUSH. “Ngayong OCT 2016 PK face off, alam ko na kaya ko ma 3-0 yung kalaban ko dahil ibang level ng strategy ginawa ko sakanya. Mas matindi pa sa ginawa ko dati sakanya,”  the confident RK exclaimed. “This time, inagre ko siya pero pinakunat ko din yung RK ko which helped me secure the victory to my 5th PK win”

“Only A TRUE STRONG WARRIOR can win this not the weak.”

“Masaya itong PK na ito dahil madaming former PK winners na sumali at mas intense yung mga laban sa buong PK,”  the tribute of district Malaya explained his overall feel of this PK. "Before PK, nagprepare talaga ako. Lahat ng need ko na preparation ginawa ko kasi gusto ko talaga manalo at sino ba naman ang gusto sumali sa PK para matalo lang? Wala ka drive to win kung ganun ka. Para kang tamad na tao nun wala ka will to succeed which is key to success.”  Hell yeah! You can definitely feel the burning passion of this RK and his love for the PK.

“Bring it on!”

Holding the highest record, with 5 PK wins, the tough talking RK is not gonna back down anytime soon. “Yes, I will defend this crown. Bring it on whoever wants to try and defeat me. Kung kaya niyo ako talunin sa arena, ako na mismo magsasabi hindi yan madali. Gagawin ko lahat para manalo dahil kaya ko ito idefend 5th PK crown ko,”  he said. I guess PK peepz will be having a hard time with him around.

“OG Kush’s words of wisdom.”

The champion also humbly shared his words of wisdom for aspiring PK peepz, “Wag ninyo minamaliit kalaban niyo. Paghandaan niyo, wag niyo yabangan at matuto rumespeto. Respect those who deserve it at wag malungkot pag natalo dapat sports. Dapat healthy ang competition. Seriously, just do your best. If you deserve to win, you will win. It all comes to your determination to become a champion for this prestigious tournament =OG KUSH.”

Lady Luck Shines on Dere Dere

as they swipe the TMWM title for the

Second month in a row!

In what would probably be one of the most anti-climactic series of events this month, October’s Trans Job MWM has to take the cake. Winning the event—because of an enemy team’s forfeiture—was none other than Upper MoA’s Dere Dere, marking this as their second consecutive win.

The monthly event started out as usual, with four teams registering for that evening. However, before the first round of matches could begin, two of the teams vanished from the scene, with only Dere Dere and Insurgent left to battle for the title.

Before that happened, however, the most unexpected thing happened. Insurgent’s LK caught a bug that affected his ASPD. It was stuck around 137… and that was with 90 base agi and 60 for dex and with full buffs and foods.

So...this. Only with attacks.

Unfortunately for the opposing team, the guildlock had already been activated, so there could no longer be any changes to their lineup. The GMs and the two teams tried to reach a compromise, but with each passing minute the more heated the arguments became. Ultimately, this left Insurgent with no choice but to forfeit, automatically making Dere Dere the winning group.

As is customary to the MyRO battle scene, when hiccups like these arise—or even when someone just loses, really—out come the megaphones. 

*sigh* they never listen

Sadly, all this does is invoke the quiet wrath of our GMs. Thankfully for us they maintain graceful and eloquent despite the pressure; something we should all take a note out of if I do say so myself.

Perhaps this just goes to show that with even with online games, you have to account luck into the equation. Skills and hard work do play a big part of it, but whoever Lady Luck decides to shine her blessing on can definitely be enough to turn the tides.

Of course, there is always next month. We can all just learn from this and move on—as is the way with most things. Hopefully by the time the November TMWM rolls in, everyone involved in the event will be adequately prepared.

Nonetheless, some hearty congratulations are still in order for Dere Dere; it wasn’t all because of luck that they happened to be the defending title holders. Will they be able to hold on to the title to successfully obtain a Grand Slam? Or will Insurgent rise from the ashes of this humiliation and exact some well-earned revenge?

Only time—and luck!—can tell. 

THE RETURN OF THE COMEBACK!

After Yuno fell to the hand of Left Prontera at last month’s MWM event, a fitting rematch took place last October 22, with the tide turning in the floating city’s favour. Nine nerve-wracking games later—with Illuminiggaz in the lead—Pen Pineapple Apple Pen was able to rise above their adversaries and wrench the MWM Champion title from the current titleholder’s grasp.

Excuse me, it’s our turn now!

“Ako syempre masaya!” the team’s genetic, Nescafe Beans exclaimed, when asked about their reaction on their win. “Ilan[g] month na kami nag[e]-MWM tapos ngayon lang ul[i]t [nanalo].” The fact that it had been LP they battled with felt something akin to fate, like they were being offered a chance to redeem themselves after last month’s events—and redeem themselves they certainly did.

It was by no means an easy road to redemption. The first-to-five match started out with Illuminiggaz gaining the first point, with a winning response by PPAP for the next round. This continued until round 4, with both teams on an even match. Two rounds later, the vivacious team from Left Prontera were in the lead, at a harrowing 4-2 score.

“Nung na-4-2 kam[i] medyo nawalan kami ng pag-asa no[’]n kasi mahirap na manalo.” Nescafe Beans admitted. Daunting as it was, however, PPAP held on. “Sakin k[as]e feeling ko kaya pa namin kahit na 4-2 kami ng kalaban.” Minstrel Norton pressed. “Pinapataas pa rin naming yung lakas ng loob ng bawat isa.”

Whatever pep talk the team had seemed to have worked because the next three rounds all swung in their favour. “…[S]imula nung n[a]ka 4-3 mas lalong lumakas ang loob namin na lumaban pa ng luma[ban].” Norton recounted excitedly That round’s win wasn’t enough to dispel the anxiety, though. “Di ko po masabi kung kaya naming ipanalo kasi lamang pa din,” the team’s Royal Guard—Only Existent—recalled. “Pero nung nag 4-4 [yung] score… medyo pumuso na po mata ko ”

Awwww yiiiis. Eyes on the prize, boys.

The deciding ninth match didn’t last very long—but it seemed like it. Slowly but surely the vigilant members of PPAP picked off the opposing team until there was no one left, but PPAP’s 4 characters standing. “Medyo n[a]g[i]ng tense ang laban pero nung nanalo kami sumigaw k[a]mi lahat. ” Norton noted blissfully.

Despite the gruelling nine rounds, the team were happier for it, and enjoyed the battle of skill and tactics with the former title holder. “Syempre nice game talaga to LP. As in sobrang pinaghandaan namin sila.” Nescafe Beans comments gratefully. While proud of their win and adamant in holding on to their title, they still remain humble and down to earth. “To our future opponents, may the best team win!” Sorcerer Elfmann cheered.

Once again, congratulations to Pen Pineapple Apple Pen for a truly memorable performance. Here’s to more excellent battles on the arena for the months to come!

D oremi broke 1057 emperiums for the whole month of October followed by Bad Attitudes with 695 emp breaks. “Always for fun lang kame sa UPAB hahaha umaasa lang kame sa castle miths,”  Keev humbly answered when asked how they always do their run. Their WOE can earn you from 150-200 miths in just one go. Yes – no salary WOE here at UPAB! That’s how dedicated the whole family is in breaking emperiums everyday.

It also looks like D oremi plans to end 2016 as top breaking guild hearing Keev say, “Etong 3peat po napagusapan narin naming ituloy kasi nakadalawa na naman, isa nalang kaya go na po kame and sana makaisa pa.”

D oremi’s 2-peat proved that even though they are just a guild for fun, as long as you have supportive members, strong bond of friendship and trust between SP-mates, achieving something like this is not impossible. I guess we’ll be having a musical December with them around unless another guild will be snatching this title away from them. Once again, congratulations to D oremi led by Keev. The guildmaster took home costume top emperum breaking guild balloon, 10 PODS and 3 megaphones.
