Hugel's lawbreakers consisted of new and old recruits; Ambet o Archer [Sniper], Nessun Ritardo [Gun Slinger], Liebesfreud [Clown], x Bo Ra [Assassin Cross], Hiro Hayama [Creator], For Dolf Only [High Wizard], Victor Novikov [Paladin], and Stephanie Young Hwang [Professor] who were all good in throwing arrows and bullets, cutting things, singing, planting crops, summoning meteors, dispell-ing and of course, being a human shield.   

Here are the insights of the squad on their individual feeling towards their victory, preparing themselves into battle and their intention for the next month of battle.   

The new champs took 50 PODs for the team and two megaphones for each player. In addition, they were given one more month to own the Trans MWM Dragon Head helms. Will they be able to defend it next month? Better watch out!

HISTORY THREEPEATS ITSELF:

ALL IS WELL DEFENDS NO1PK CHAMPION TITLE

FOR AUGUST 2016

All’s well that ends well for All is Well as he bags the coveted No.1PK championship crown last August 20, successfully defending his title for the third consecutive month. While the prominent shadow chaser from Yuno save point was a regular contender in the aforementioned event, he nonetheless didn’t register this month with the expectation that he would come out of it victorious.

“Like I [say] every PK night, di ako nag eexpect manalo kasi madami din magagaling na kasali.” He commented humbly.

This doesn’t mean, however, that he was not confident in his own skills. All is Well is not a stranger to the PVP scene, having frequented the PVP rooms with his friends. “About sa match ups, OK naman kung sino makatapat kasi kilala ko din moves nila, specially [y]ung mga friends ko na kasali kasi nakakalaro ko naman sila sa PVP.” This, coupled with the fact that it was pretty much the same finalists who entered this month, admittedly helped him be more confident with himself.

Being a well-known PVPer has its disadvantages though, more so with a reoccurring champ like him. The pressure to perform well is definitely there with every match. “Yung feeling na nakaka-tense 'pag kasali ka kasi madami nanonood. […]” Somewhat teasingly, he added: “[…] Umiiwas din siguro magka-error kasi after ng laban kakanchawan ka ng mga friends mo.”

When asked about the inevitable rivalry between his friends every time the event rolls in, the player is quick to reassure me that it is nothing but the usual banter that comes with competitions like this. “Wala naming personalan yung match, so good luck na lang sa laban and have fun.” He adds: “…[G]usto ko pa rin magpasalamat sa Yuno family. Since day 1 full support sila sakin. Love you guys.”

As for the players who may have been eyeing to join the monthly event, he had this to say: “Advice ko lang sa mga gusting maging PK, unahin nyo muna talunin yung kaba, kasi yun yun ang pinakamahirap na kalaban. The rest, your skills will speak [for] it.”

Loud, Proud Prontera Sweeps Geffen in GOM Tilt, 3-0

The battle flag is hoisted back and now waves proudly at the Rune Midgard capital’s west wing, as the Left Prontera-based guild QuinnDrizzAndFriends, led by a patriotic BOOM chicken, claimed the spotlight all for themselves in the most recent Guild of the Month finals, vanquishing a rather lacklustre and totally thrown out Geffen guild, Cheat, in a clean 3-0 sweep last September 3 in the guild war arena. 

“My main motivation was my teammates, ang tropang LP, home of the loud and proud,” guild master BOOM chicken shared. “It’s been a BBH drought for LP, kaya gusto ko talaga ilagay ang fifth BBH ng Left Pront this September. Gladly nangyari pati pinangako ko kay Joben ng Left Prontera na i-revenge ang pagkatalo n’ya against Mid-Geffen n’ong [GOM] run n’ya.”

 

Well, I guess a congratulations for their vengeance is in order.

Semifinals was a round robin clash between QuinnDrizzAndFriends, Cheat and Tribong Badjaw, with the Left Prontera squad heading straight to business, staying sharp throughout the battle rounds to emerge on top, 2-0. The Cheat guild of Geffen followed suit, crushing Tribong Badjaw twice to score a spot in the September 2016 GOM finals.

The Left Prontera signalled their one-sided domination of the series early in the finals, easily taking out the Cheat army in the first set, 1-0, and forcing through the following rounds to assert an insurmountable lead, 2-0. Geffen’s attempts to stay in the game in the last set were unfailingly futile, as a rabid QuinnDrizzAndFriends completely wiped out every enemy player in the screen, thoroughly wrapping their GOM outing in a solid 3-0 victory.   

“Highlight of the finals was the last and final match, round three,” BOOM chicken recalled. “Sa oras na na-wipe out na ang Cheat guild sa arena, ka-skype ko lahat ng tropang Left Prontera, napatahimik ako for a good one minute. All I heard was congratulations and the joy ng aking mga tropa para sa’kin at para sa save point.”   

“I did expect to win the GOM of September 2016,” he added. “Kapag ikaw ang leader ng guild, need mo talaga kumampante kahit kabado. It’s a must win at all cost when GOM night comes, and gladly it happened.”

 

Like, duh?

And as expected, it was a joyful moment indeed for the Left Pronterans, especially for BOOM chicken, as he casually took home one “Champion” Expert Ring [0], 10 billion zennies, 30 megaphones and the illustrious blue burning helm. “My plans after GOM right now is to help our ally to win the crown,” said the obviously relieved and exhilarated Left Prontera guild leader. “Todo suporta kame sa lahat ng alliance; if ever manalo ang ally namin next month, it will be a Grand Slam for our [whole] alliance. Pati nasa plan ko din ang 3rd Job MWM – that’s our next big plan for the Loud and Proud Left Prontera… ipanalo ang MWM for our beloved save point.”   

“Shout out sa lahat ng alliance na totoo at solid: LP, Yuno, Upper MOA, Izlude, Aldebaran. Special mentions kina Dan, Ash, Bex, Theo, Jhay, Justin, John, Clark, Natnat, Jenn, Nethi, Alvin, Kent, Nognog, Prima, Jims, Eco, C2 Merlat, Peng, Gero, Enzo, Nort, Pulsefire family, Rufus, Spelltuta, Fritos, Huhubells, Roy, Gerbie, Mhia, Keev, Eric, Jamir, Jared, Nicolo, Rad and last but not the least Joben ng Left Prontera. nd to all other names i didn’t list here, alam n’yo kung sino kayo. "WE'RE BACK."

DERE DERE WINS THE AUGUST 2016

MWM CHAMPIONSHIP

In a stunning turn of events last August 27, Dere Dere swooped in with a close 5-4 victory against MyRO is Life, ultimately claiming the MyRO War Masters Championship title. Last month’s winners, Insurgent, were unable to join the event due to their Grand Slam Championship title—something the rookie party from Upper MoA weren’t shy to express their disappointment on.

“Sumali kami para makalaban sana yung current Grand Slam Champions,” party leader RozenFate admitted. The engaging warlock had been the catalyst for the group’s formation, fuelled by the desire to give an exciting showcase of skill and talent.

Alas, the group had been formed a little too late. “...[N]abuo lang kami kami nung nag-Grand Slam sila,” genetic Nicolette Rochette supplied. “So, too late for us.” Rune knight KingKaelthaz agreed, lamenting: “Dapat nung [two]peat pa lang yung Insurgent maglalaro na kami... [K]aso kulang talaga sa [p]layers.”

The missed opportunity inevitably had an effect on their performance. “Hindi pa [To]guro yon,” RozenFate said teasingly, his party mates filling the tiny chat room with laughter and catcalls. The unavailability of Salty Pepper during the championships itself didn’t help matters; the archbishop was one of the core members they had been playing with during the entire month of August. The group’s staple support was rendered unable to attend because of school duties, and shadow chaser Justine Stripper had to sub in. The sudden change in lineup was a definitive factor in their team fights. “[Y]ung [shadow chaser] namin kakabalik lang nun.. [A]s in nung [f]inals lang talaga s'ya naglaro.” KingKaelthaz supplied.

Despite their eagerness to face Insurgent, the seven-man party were by no means expecting a win of the entire tournament. “Balak lang talaga namin kahit maka-1 point lang,” RozenFate declared amidst more laughter. “Wag lang ma-5-0.” Ever the enthusiastic storyteller, he added: “Sabi nga namin, nung 2 points na, ‘Okay pwede na tayo matalo’.”

The opposing team didn’t make it any easier for them either. “4-2 nga po yun [nung una],” minstrel o Instrinc o disclosed shyly. “[N]ahabol lang namin.” He added almost sheepishly.

As close and as challenging as the final match had been, RozenFate does not feel as satisfied. Dere Dere and MyRO is Life actually stand as allies, and the deciding race to 5 match had been ‘friendly’. “Di ko sila ma-view as talagang kalaban,” RozenFate confessed, who had apparently been looking for a meaner fight. “...Nakakasawa din maging mabait. Mas maganda yung nampo-provoke.” He claims, the statement an allusion of his fighting style during events like these.

Still, the return of Insurgent in the MWM scene after their resting month has given them more zeal. “We’re back daw,” RozenFate declares as a message for the old champs. As for the other teams vying for the title?

“Wag na kayo sumali ng [MWM] para mag sara na server ni Admin ” the jokester quips, resulting in more laughter and cussing from his teammates.

Congratulations yet again, Dere Dere; we hope your future matches will be just as energetic and engaging as your interview.

Izlude All Stars Shine

Guild of the Month

Izlude All Stars burned bright on the eve of August 06 as they blindsided rival group Caliwaii in a smashing 3-1 victory, cementing their names as Guild of the Month for August 2016.

“Matamis na mapait na masaya na may halong pagsisisi,” guild leader Pancit de Kuryente replied slightly in jest, when asked about his initial feelings on their guild’s win. “Dahil marami akong nakaaway na nagiging kakampe ko.” He adds by explanation, on the bittersweetness of it all. Ah, the guild war life.

The first round of the deciding match had started off shakily, with both teams getting a feel of the arena and their opponents. Eventually Izlude managed to recover earlier and successfully snatched a point for themselves. Round two was quicker and more decisive as the energetic guild from Prontera’s satellite town overwhelmed their opponents with a flurry of aptly timed skills and spells, ending the round in under a minute.

With two points in the lead it seemed like a win for the All Stars was inevitable, but Caliwaii wasn’t done just yet. In the third round, the prominent guild from Hugel retaliated with a swift and astonishing performance, doing a complete 180 and sweeping Izlude under the mat in what seemed to be a repeat of events from last month’s July GOM Championships.

As the fourth match rolled in, it soon became apparent that it was Caliwaii’s last stand as they tried to invade from the conduit surrounding the arena. It proved to be a fatal mistake as the All Stars trapped them quite literally between a rock and a hard place, before tearing through them like a school of frenzied piranhas.

The match outcome may have seemed slightly one-sided, but Pancit owes it thoroughly to his guild’s mindset. “Walang mahirap sa taong positive!” he declared confidently. He was also quick to express his sincerest gratitude to those who helped the guild emerge victorious from the championships.

Well done, Izlude All Stars and congratulations yet again! Your positive outlook is truly a beacon of encouragement for players, server-wide.
